Event Overview

The Resilient India Initiative is a national-level knowledge and policy-driven platform focused on advancing Climate Action and Disaster Resilience for a Sustainable Future. The initiative brings together policymakers, academicians, industry experts, researchers, and students to engage in meaningful dialogue, knowledge exchange, and solution-oriented discussions around building a more resilient and climate-ready nation.

The Resilient India Initiative, led by Chandigarh University, is positioned as a national knowledge and policy-influencing effort addressing Climate Action & Disaster Resilience for a Sustainable Future. The Resilient India Star Event comprises of Pre-Event Knowledge Series, a High-Level Round Table, and a Student Competition

Objectives

  1. To foster national dialogue on Climate Action and Disaster Resilience by bringing together policymakers, academicians, industry experts, practitioners, and youth to collaboratively address emerging environmental and disaster-related challenges.

  2. To influence policy and strategic decision-making through evidence-based discussions, expert insights, and outcomes from the High-Level Round Table, contributing actionable recommendations for a resilient and sustainable India.

  3. To build knowledge capacity and awareness through the Pre-Event Knowledge Series, enabling the young generation and stakeholders to understand contemporary risks, resilience frameworks, and sustainable solutions related to climate change and disaster management.

  4. To promote interdisciplinary and innovation-driven solutions by encouraging participation through competitions that engage students, researchers, and professionals in proposing scalable, technology-enabled, and community-centric resilience models
    To strengthen academia-industry-government collaboration for translating research, innovation, and best practices into real-world climate resilience and disaster preparedness initiatives

  5. Encourage interdisciplinary collaboration in product ideation, design, and development

Prizes & Incentives

As a part of the event there is a Multidisciplinary Student Competition 'Resilient World Solutions' The competition aims to foster interdisciplinary thinking, community engagement, and sustainable approaches for real-world impact amongst the youth of today. This is where the young generation will demonstrate how breaking down silos helps demonstrate a real-world solution.

    In addition, top shortlisted entries from each category would be supported by Chandigarh University for technical and financial support (by UCRD & TBI) for:

    • Patent Filing (technical & Financial Support worth 20,000-30,000 INR by CU) - 3 in numbers

    • Incubation (technical & Financial Support worth 2,00,000 INR by CU) - 3 in numbers

    • Scopus paper Publication (technical & Financial Support worth 10,000-40,000 INR by CU) - 3 in numbers

    CU faculty will mentor all ideas from the shortlisted entries towards a research publication.

    Every entry that publishes a research paper, post the competition, in a Q1 journal will get an award money (as per the university policy).
