Event Overview

CONFLOAT-3.0 is a departmental core technical competition organized by the Department of Civil Engineering, Chandigarh University, under the banner of the ASCE Student Chapter, Chandigarh University, as part of Innovfest-2026. The competition focuses on the design and development of floating concrete models using lightweight and innovative materials.

By applying the principles of concrete technology, buoyancy, material optimisation, and sustainable construction, the event offers hands-on experiential learning while promoting teamwork, problem-solving, and industry-oriented practical skills.

Objectives

  • Innovation in concrete materials and lightweight construction techniques, building the next-generation design and construction practices.

  • Hands-on opportunities to witness the amalgamation of design and buoyancy principles, strengthening the practical understanding of the structure's overall performance and stability.

  • Development of teamwork, time management, and experimental skills for real-world engineering challenges.

  • Sustainable and industry-relevant engineering solutions to address tomorrow's engineering and structural challenges.

  • Practical learning in structural design, bridging the gap between theory and practice.
