Event Overview
Al HackMatrix-Al for Good: Solutions for Social Impact is a collaborative initiative by UIE (University Institute of Engineering), USB (University School of Business), GSFA (Global School of Financial Accounting) and UIPS (University Institute of Pharma Sciences), which promises to be a transformative platform for innovation, entrepreneurship, and social impact through artificial intelligence.
Participants have the chance to collaborate in diverse, interdisciplinary teams, receive mentorship from industry professionals, engage in hands-on building of Al applications, and pitch their innovations to leaders who can help to scale their solutions.
Objectives
To create a multi-stage Al Hack Matrix event, including an online bootcamp
To prepare participants, a focused 24-hour offline hackathon to design and prototype solutions, and a post-event
Pitch & Innovation Expo.
To leverage artificial intelligence to create meaningful social impact, especially within emerging technology fields
To solve real-world problems across key sectors, including HealthTech, FinTech, and AgriTech.

Who Can Participate?
Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and PhD researchers.
Each team will consist of EXACTLY 4 members.
Each team must follow the mandatory gender-diversity format: (at least 1 Female) or (at least 1 Male).
Interdisciplinary teams are allowed (engineering, business, pharma, finance, etc.).
Inter-College and inter-University teams are also allowed.

ROUND 1Round 1:
Pre-Screening and Idea Submission
After registration, each team will select one problem statement from the provided pool and submit a PowerPoint presentation for pre-selection by January 28th, 2026.
Shortlisted teams will advance to ROUND 2
A bootcamp will be organised for all shortlisted teams.
ROUND 2 (Elimination Round) 5th Feb-16th Feb, 2026
Teams will virtually present their ideas. Based on these presentations, a further shortlist will be created. The selected teams will advance to ROUND 3 and will be invited to participate in the main hackathon round on February 20th-21st, 2026, to be held offline at Chandigarh University (Mohali).
